FRENCH CUISINE AT A GLANCE...

France is a blessed country for its delicate cuisine paired with fine wines as well as top-quality organic produce. France features a plural cuisine declined over the regions and terroirs. Normandy is reputed for its dairies and apples. Sunny Provence is popular for its organic vegetables, fruits, aromatic herbs, and lavender. Burgundy is internationally recognized for its Grands Crus wines, mustard, gingerbread, black current and wine-sauce stews. Brittany and the Atlantic coast are reputed for its fish, shellfish but not only as crepes, salted-butter shortbreads and cider also contribute to the culinary heritage.

Boeuf bourguignon, pissaladière, poulet Vallée d’Auge, blanquette de veau, canard à l’orange, gratin dauphinois, tarte Tatin, macarons, and more… are well-know French classics that today rival with celebrity chefs creations combining unique flavors and low fat nutrition.

Reduction methods thicken the sauces, aromatic fresh herbs flavor a lighter cuisine, home-made yogurt substitutes the cream and organic seasonal fruits highlight exquisite low-fat desserts.

Hands-on Cooking Class in Paris

Join our woman Chef in her private professional kitchen to experience the popular and simple bistros cuisine such as Duck breast served with orange sauce, Stews, Potato gratin originally from the Dauphiné, Profiteroles, Creme brulée, Crepes Suzette and more…
You will cook in the Chef private home which offers a panoramic view all over Paris. It’s easy to get there by metro. Classes are taught in English by our talented Chef graduated from a well-known French culinary Institute. She takes time to review the recipes step by step, and to provide her personal tips to succeed in the techniques.

If the French cuisine is reputed to be difficult, in signing this program you will understand that it’s not !
Recipes follow the seasons and are simplified for home cooks. It includes ingredients that you will find easily in your country. Cooking classes are hands-on and it lasts 2 hours. When the class is finished, you will enjoy a 3-course meal including a starter, a main course and a dessert. Each prepared with seasonal produce. The meal is accompanied by mineral water, soft drinks, white or red wine by the glass, coffee or tea.

Sample menus: Tomato puff tartlet with green salad seasoned with olive oil, Chicken Axoa (a speciality from the Basque Country cooked with Espelette ground pepper, Haddock millefeuille style, grapefruit and Granny Smith apple, Artichokes “Barigoule”, Green asparagus Risotto, Rhubarb tart topped with raspberry sauce, Salty-buttered shortbread with strawberries, Poached peaches with a basil presto, Madeleines, Sautéed cherries with green cardamom and cinnamon served with hazelnut crispy biscuit.

Private class supplement :$75 per person (for minium 3 people booked together).
