Welcome to the French Alps, from the lake of Annecy to the Aravis, Vanoise and Mont-Blanc mountains, featuring rejuvenate environments, pastures stuffed with wildflowers, high snow-capped peaks, historic towns, picturesque villages adorned with geraniums, gourmet adventures, and alive art craft traditions. A Taste of the French Alps program includes a 6-night luxury private chalet accommodation located in a traditional farming village, a few miles away to the lake of Annecy.

A Taste of the French Alps culinary journey offers a perfect combination of gourmet adventures and visits throughout the Savoie region. You will enjoy the alive market of La Clusaz picturesque village and the visit to an authentic cheese farm.You will stroll across Annecy historic quarter with a tour-guide to admire the numerous 16th- and 17th-century buildings painted in shades of peach and rose which house restaurants, bakeries, tiny boutiques and designers shops. Annecy earns its reputation of the Alpine Venice thanks to the canals trickling through the town.You will indulge in Chamonix mountaineering traditions and enjoy a cogwheel train ride to the glaciers. The train stops at the Montenvers station at 6276 ft altitude where you will have lunch while admiring the panoramic view over the highest peaks.

Taste of the French Alps celebrates the traditional French and Savoie’s cuisine through hands-on cooking and baking classes in the chalet as well as gourmet experiences in traditional and Michelin restaurants. Program includes 4 cooking and baking lessons. You will learn how to prepare and cook well balanced meals including a starter, a main course and a dessert, and celebrating the French traditional cuisine paired with the Savoie fine white and red wines.

Our Alpine Chic chalet is located in a traditional farming village of the Aravis Mountains, 15 miles distance from Annecy and the lake shore. In summer this alpine Eden is a perfect rejuvenating spot in a stunning environment: green valleys, gentle slopes and traditional chalets, bulb bell-tower churches, farm where the flavorful Reblochon cheese is made.

Our entirely renovated and elegantly decorated private chalet spanning over three floors has two west and south oriented terraces to enjoy breathtaking views, especially at the sunset. Our chalet offers five bedrooms with private en-suite bathrooms and all modern comfort. Amenities include WiFi, flat screen TV’s with international channels, washing machine and dryer, board and iron, fully equipped kitchens, BBQ, etc. You will find hairdryers, bathrobes, and towels in each bathroom. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served in the dining room or on the terrace if the weather allows.

ITINERARY

Day 1 (Sunday) – Welcome to Geneva and the Alps!
Pick-up at Geneva international airport
Transfer to the chalet. Check-in. Resting time free at your leisure.
Welcome aperitif and dinner in the chalet.
Overnight.

Day 2 (Monday) – Market Cooking Class (1) / Visit to a cheese Farm
After breakfast, transfer to La Clusaz for the market tour and shopping.
Transfer to the chalet. Cooking class followed by lunch.
Afternoon visit to a cheese farm.
Time free at your leisure.
Dinner in the chalet.
Overnight.

Day 3 (Tuesday) – Chamonix full-day Tour
After breakfast, transfer to Chamonix.
Train ride to Le Montenvers through forests, tunnels, and viaducts to get to a 6290 ft altitude right at the foot of La Mer de Glace to enjoy the glacier panorama and the view on the high peaks.
Lunch at Le Montenvers restaurant.
Transfer to Chamonix. Walking tour in Chamonix and time free at your leisure.
Transfer to the chalet.
Food and wine pairing dinner in the chalet.
Overnight.

Day 4 (Wednesday) – Easy mountain walk / Lunch break in a farm / Cooking Class (2) followed by dinner
After breakfast, meet our local tour guide for a recreational and educational mountain walk (easy level) on the Plateau de Beauregard. You will improve your knowledge about wild medicinal and eatable herbs and flowers while observing the marmots.
Lunch break at La Ferme de Lorette or similar.
Afternoon cooking class followed by tasting food and wine pairing dinner
Overnight

Day 5 (Thursday) – Quaint villages walking tour on the shores of the lake – Cooking class (3) followed by dinner
After breakfast, transfer to Talloires.
Meet our local tour guide to explore Talloire and Montmin picturesque villages and to enjoy the scenic countryside. This low altitude walk offers a breathtaking view on the lake and on La Tournette summit.
Gourmet lunch in Talloires.
Transfer to the chalet.
Two-hour cooking class starting at 5pm, followed by dinner.
Overnight.

Day 6 (Friday) – Annecy marketplace & cultural walking tour / Baking class (4) followed by tastings
After breakfast, transfer to Annecy.
Morning market and cultural tour through the historic quarter.
Lunch in Annecy (Racines, Bloomer or similar)
Transfer to the chalet.
Afternoon two-hour baking class. You will learn how to make French delights such as madeleines, financiers that you will enjoy accompanied by tea or coffee.
Resting time in the chalet.
Gourmet dinner in Le Grand Bo’ village nearby.
Overnight.

Day 7 (Saturday) – Check-out / End of the tour.
After breakfast, transfer to Geneva international airport or to Geneva or Annecy train station.
End of the tour.
