It's precisely this northern part of Provence that I invite you to discover, nestled between the Ventoux and Dentelles de Montmirail mountains surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and lavender fields. History of Provence left an unparalleled heritage that you will enjoy through visits and excursions: Vaison La Romaine, Avignon, and numerous medieval hilltop villages where artists create their works of art.
Welcome to Beaumes-de-Venise, a charming Provence village which is reputed for its delicate Muscat naturally sweet wines, organic fruits orchards, vegetables gardens, and sweet life. Beaumes is home-village to our luxury modern-style guesthouse nestled in the countryside, between woods, vineyards, and saffron gardens. You will be amazed by its panoramic breathtaking view on the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains, especially at the sunset. Devine and unique!
La Villa des Dentelles offers 5 elegantly decorated guests rooms and suites in beige, grey and white colors trend; each one has its private en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Your first class is run by Chef Marie in La Villa des Dentelles, offering a panoramic view on the Montmirail mountains. It's scheduled in the afternoon, leaving the morning for another activity or visit. Chef Marie is a self-educated cook who trained in Michelin-starred restaurants. Her recipes feature the healthy Provence and Mediterranean cuisine prepared with organic produce only. You will learn how to prepare and to cook a well-balanced 3-course menu. Tasting food and wine pairing dinner follows.
Your second and third cooking programs are operated at the Luberon Cooking School nearby Gordes, and run by a Michelin-star Chef, who was an instructor at the Paul Bocuse culinary Institute.
Second program is a market cooking class. You will experience the market visit and shopping with the Chef who will review the produce ranges, and provide his tips to buy the freshest produce that you will cook afterwards. The market tour starts at 9am and it lasts about 45 minutes.It's followed by a hands-on class taught in English. The third program is a cooking class only.
These two classes last 3 hours and it's taught in English. You will learn how to prepare and to cook a 4-course menu from scratch, and to be well organized too! The Chef will teach you the chopping, cooking and baking methods, as well as the plated presentation.
Menus include an amuse-bouche, an appetizer (starter), a main course (entree) with meat and/or fish, and a dessert. Tasting lunches accompanied by aperitif, wine, and coffee or tea follow each class. In Beaumes-de-Venise breathtaking environment you are lulled by the sound of cicadas and the wind noise, inviting to quiet walks, artistic creations, cooking… but also relaxation and wellbeing. You will partake two yoga classes of 45 minutes each, focusing on breathe, awareness of your body flexibility, and awakening of senses. No yoga experience is required to join classes. A full-body relaxing massage is scheduled Day-2 for one hour in the morning. It helps to eliminate your tiredness, especially after your long trip and jet-lag.
Our authentic Provence covers a territory located north to Avignon at the border of the Drôme county. Here local people welcome you as a guest and a friend not as a tourist.
Corinne Preteur will guide you through medieval villages nestled in the awesome sites of Montmirail, Mont Ventoux and the Luberon. You will visit these tiny hilltop villages by walking, and meet artists, artisans, and producers who offer “la crème de la crème"… meaning the best food. Program also includes visits to a goat cheese farm, honeybee farm, and olive oil mill.
You will visit Vaison-la-Romaine, a millennial city featuring both Roman and medieval quarters, and enjoy its alive marketplace scheduled on Tuesdays which is one of the biggest in Provence. You will discover quaint Côtes du Rhône wine villages and Beaumes-de-Venise including visits to wineries.
Day 1 (Sunday) : Afternoon TGV transfert in Avignon to Beaumes de Venise. Check-in at the guesthouse with a welcome drink and snack. Resting time and quiet walk in the village. Visit to a goat cheese farm at the milking time. Aperitif followed by a food and wine pairing dinner at the villa. Overnight.
Day 2 (Monday) : Yoga streches. Breakfast. One-hour massage. Lunch. Afternoon visit to a winery in Beaumes for one hour. First cooking class at La Villa des Dentelles, starting at 4:30pm followed by aperitif and dinner accompanied by wine. Overnight.
Day 3 (Tuesday) : Breakfast. Visit to Vaison-la-Romaine (market, medieval village and Roman site). Lunch in Vaison. Afternoon visit to an olive oil mill. Yoga stretch class. Resting time. Dinner in a traditional restaurant nearby. Overnight
Day 4 (Wednesday) : After breakfast, transfer to the Gordes. Market cooking class followed by food & wine pairing tasting lunch. Afternoon walking tour in Menerbes and visit to a honeybee farm. Transfer to Beaumes. Light dinner at the guesthouse. Overnight.
Day 5 (Thursday) : After breakfast, transfer to the Gordes. Cooking class followed by tasting lunch. Afternoon excursion through the Wine Route from Vacqueyras to Gigondas, Sablet and Seguret. Dinner in a Michelin-star restaurant in Gigondas. Overnight.
Day 6 (Friday) : Breakfast. Check-out not later than 11:00am. Transfer to Avignon TGV station. End of the tour.
